In a harrowing incident on Sunday, nine individuals, including three females and six males, narrowly avoided tragedy as their vehicles collided along the Orile-Imo section of the Abeokuta-Sagamu Expressway.
Involved in the collision were a Toyota car and a Mitsubishi bus, both traveling at high speeds. The impact caused the Mitsubishi bus to tumble, and the Toyota car skidded off the highway.
Eyewitnesses, who arrived at the scene shortly after the collision, attributed the incident to the excessive speed of the drivers. Fortunately, no lives were lost, but three females sustained injuries and were promptly taken to Idera Hospital in Sagamu.
Florence Okpe, the spokesperson for the Ogun State Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps, confirmed the accident, placing blame on dangerous driving and speeding. With the holiday season resulting in increased vehicular movement, Okpe urged drivers to adhere to regulated speed limits for a safer journey
