To prepare Edo Youths for the future revolution in Information Technology, IT Edo State Ministry of Youth and Humanitarian Affairs has signed a Memorandum of Understanding, MOU with a Multinational IT group, GOMYCODE to train 60 Edo Youths in Soft ware Development and Data Science.
The Secretary to the State Government, Barr. Osarodion Ogie signed on behalf of the state government, while Mr. Babatunde Olaifa, Country head, signed on behalf of GOMYCODE.
According to the MOU, GOMYCODE which has presence in nine countries, eight in Africa and one in the Middle East prepares youths in Africa for the future with Fullstack Javascript Development and Data Science for a duration of five Months and also provide paid internship for ten of these participants
The Country Head who was accompanied by Mr. Dele Fayemi, Ikeja Manager said he was excited with the signing of the MOU and the swift response of the state government to provide information Technology training, which is the future for the youths.
“The training is to ensure that the participants are capable to use what they learnt to work, that is why those who are serious and committed will get internship opportunity,” he noted.
Shortly after the signing of the MOU, the Commissioner for Youth and Humanitarian Affairs, Hon. Zubairu Dada Abubakar, Directors of the Ministry and the Consultant on e-governance and other ICT related matters, Mrs. Birgitte Okoduwa and a Youth Ambassador, Hon. Daniel Uwadia held a meeting with the GOMYCODE representative and it was agreed that the training is expected to commence on the 13th of May, 2024
