Ekiti Man Remanded for Allegedly Killing Mediator During Fight
A 45-year-old man, Tajudeen Olaleye, has been remanded in the Correctional Centre in Ado Ekiti by an Ekiti State Magistrates’ Court over the alleged murder of a mediator during a fight.
According to Police prosecutor Inspector Yomi Osuolale, the incident occurred on March 10 in Otun Ekiti, Moba Local Government Area of the state, where the defendant allegedly stabbed Mrs. Rasaki Taibat with a bottle during a neighborhood altercation, resulting in her death.
Osuolale stated that the defendant’s actions violated Section 234 of the Criminal Laws of Ekiti State, 2012, and requested the court to remand him in the correctional center pending legal advice from the Director of Public Prosecutions.
Magistrate Mrs. Olubunmi Bamidele granted the prosecutor’s request and ordered the defendant’s remand in the correctional center until legal advice is received. The case has been adjourned till April 25 for further mention.
