The Niger College Old Students Association, 1993 set, has enrolled the West African Examination Council (WAEC) examinations for eight (8) students of the college.
Speaking, Chairman of the students enrollment committee- Comrade Peter Edoba said the enrollment grant was to encourage the students to be more studious and dedicated to their studies. “The students passed through a rigorous screening exercise which brought out the best amongst them,” Comrade Edoba said.
Giving a vote of thanks, the Vice Principal of the College- Mr. Ruth Idonije thanked the 1993 set of the old students association for their kind gestures. She however asked for more assistance in the area of furniture, saying the students lack chairs to sit in the classrooms. “Our Marker Board is bad, we need replacements”, she said.
Expressing appreciation to the old students, some of the parents of one of the awardees, Mrs. Eunice Edema, Osaguona Osayamen, and Charles Imade said the offer came to them as surprise and pray God to please the group. They also called on parents to focus on their children’s well-being.
Advising the children, the General Secretary of the 1993 set- Engr. Igbinogun Endurance called on the students to take their studies serious, saying that is what guarantees success.
Also speaking, Pst. Great Gregory Ako, who was 1993 Chemistry Laboratory Prefect, said the free enrollment is a seed sown into the future of the children. He reiterated that education is not a scam. He said people that goes to school makes genuine money.
On his part, Ebhodaghe Emmanuel called on the students to be good ambassadors and leaders by giving helping in the way they can.
