A shocking incident unfolded in Kaduna State as a newlywed woman, identified as Habiba Ibrahim, allegedly cut off her husband’s manhood. The victim, Salisu Idris, a 40-year-old commercial motorcycle rider, was attacked without any apparent reason. The incident occurred, shortly after Idris returned from the mosque where he had performed his morning prayers.
Idris recounted the harrowing experience, describing how his wife suddenly attacked him with a sharp knife while he was lying on his bed. He credited the timely intervention of a neighbor for preventing his manhood from being completely severed. The motive behind his wife’s actions remains unknown.
Following the incident, Habiba was promptly arrested by the police in the Zaria area of Kaduna State. Idris was immediately rushed to the General Hospital in Makarfi and later referred to the Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital in Zaria for further medical attention.
Idris expressed his primary concern for his health at the moment and stated that he is not considering remarriage in the near future. His mother, Rabi Salisu, who is caring for him at the hospital, confirmed that he had never complained about his wife before. She added that Habiba’s parents are worried and willing to settle Idris’ medical bills.
Efforts to obtain a comment from the Kaduna State Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Mansur Hassan, were unsuccessful as his telephone was unreachable at the time of reporting.
