The suspects were involved in offenses such as rape, armed robbery, kidnapping, banditry, and impersonation, among others. Commissioner Nadada highlighted one case in particular, where a suspect named Victor Jonathan, also known as Korea, was arrested for allegedly defiling two girls aged 13 and 14 years old. The girls were sent on an errand when the suspect, in collaboration with an accomplice, forcefully took them to an uncompleted building in Angwan Gwari, Kabayi Area of Karu LGA, where he assaulted them.
Another suspect, Stephen Arigu Namo, was arrested for allegedly raping a 17-year-old girl in Karu LGA. Namo had visited the house of Sale Magaji at Aku Village, Base one Mararaba, posing as a spiritual healer for Magaji’s daughter. However, he took advantage of the situation and engaged in unlawful carnal knowledge with the teenager. The suspect has confessed to the crime and is currently under investigation.
Commissioner Nadada also mentioned that other suspected rapists were apprehended in the Doma LGA. He directed that all 33 suspects be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Lafia for further investigation. They will subsequently be charged to court for prosecution.
