Obaland Magazine learned that Team Nigeria is actually pushing for more medals in the ongoing world athletics championship in Nairobi, Kenya.
The team is turning heads with their performances in Kenya. Udodii Onwuzurike has proven to be the man to beat in the 200m final although his time of 20.13s which would have been a Championship record was not allowed to stand because of a slight tailwind.
Team Nigeria men and women will be part of 200m finals on Saturday at 6 pm Kenya Time (4 pm Nigerian time). It was Favour Ofili who made it through the finals of the women 200m with the 2nd fastest time.
In the Long Jump, Nigeria will not be left out of the party as Ruth Agadama qualified for the final coming up on Sunday, with a jump of 6.06m. Adama hit the 6m mark on her last attempt. She could be picking up a medal if she improves in the finals, something she is capable of.
Oghenemine Ekporere completes Team Nigeria’s lineup in a final as he hopes for a podium finish in the 110 hurdles.
