Tragedy struck recently in Abudu, Orhionmwon local government area of Edo State as faceless men alleged to be political mafias attacked one Samuel Meshack, the only son of the late Peoples Democratic(PDP) party stalwart and former chairman of the ruling party in Orhionmwon local government chapter in 2010, late Hon. Samuel Osagiede Agbasco.
Information received revealed that the attack could not be unconnected with Meshack’s avowed determination to seek justice over the death of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Osagiede Agbasco who was allegedly murdered for political reasons in the state.
It was gathered that his father’s property was forcefully taken over which prompted him to resort to hiding for safety and fear of being killed by the unknown and has not been seen or heard of.
It will be noted that Meshack’s father Hon. Samuel Osagiede Agbasco was on 20th September 2014 murdered by unknown gunmen suspected to be political thugs during the party’s primaries held in Abudu secondary school, Orhionmwon local government area of Edo state with several of his supporters sustaining various degrees of injuries in the process.
Hon. Agbasco who was contesting the position of the national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party was said to have arrived at the primaries’ election venue in the morning only to be confronted by the alleged political thugs who invaded the scene at about 10 am and suddenly sprayed bullets at the aspirant.
According to findings, his wife, Mrs. Samuel Elizabeth, a strong member of the PDP was said to have also vowed to unravel the circumstances surrounding the death of her husband but was prevailed upon by party faithful on the need to drop her move with a view to continuing from where her late husband stopped politically.
According to sources, that was not to be as she was gruesomely murdered on 28 March 2015 during the Presidential elections while driving out of her compound heading to the election field.
