The family of a seven-year-old girl in Ikorodu, Lagos State, is seeking justice for the alleged sexual abuse by a neighbor.
The victim’s aunt, Adeola Adesanya, expressed concern over the police’s handling of the case, claiming the suspect was released without proper prosecution due to overcrowded correctional centers.
Adesanya revealed the incident occurred on October 21, and despite initial assurances of court proceedings, the police later cited facility constraints. The family, troubled by the lack of accountability, fears justice may be denied for the orphaned girl under their care.
Attempts to reach the Lagos Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, were unsuccessful.
