A suspected leader of the Eiye confraternity, known as Oloba, was killed by a rival cult group in the Ijeja area of Abeokuta South Local Government Area of Ogun State. Oloba was shot by the assailants while entering his house and later died from his injuries. The incident occurred in the early hours of Thursday. Witnesses reported that the assailants arrived on a bike and quickly fled the scene after the shooting. Oloba was a known member of the Eiye Confraternity, while the attackers were suspected to be members of the Alora cult group. The Commissioner of Police in Ogun State, Abiodun Alamutu, confirmed the incident. In a separate incident, the Ogun State Police Command arrested Samuel Odubola for allegedly stabbing his neighbor, Seun Ogunniyi, to death in the Ogijo area of the state.
The incident followed an argument between the two individuals. Ogunniyi sustained a deep chest wound and was rushed to the hospital but later died from his injuries. Odubola initially escaped but was later apprehended by the police. Preliminary investigations into the incident have begun.
