The Benue State Police recently apprehended 25 individuals for various offenses across the region. Among the detainees were a suspected spiritualist, along with his pregnant wife and five others who had traveled from Delta State to Benue.
The state command’s spokesperson, SP Catherine Anene, disclosed in a statement that 15 suspected arm manufacturers were also among those arrested. Additionally, two individuals were apprehended in Mbakiya village, Ugondo District, Makurdi, after robbing Misaq Eke.
The arrests unfolded following a police patrol on Barracks Road, Makurdi, where the team received information about a suspected ritualist and promptly arrested the spiritual leader and his associates. Investigations revealed their involvement in unsuccessful ritual activities in Delta State, prompting their move to Benue for further directives on money manufacturing.
Another operation on Vandeikya-Adikpo Road led to the busting of an arm dealers’ hideout, resulting in the arrest of Fater Terkula Sunday and Jem Demesugh.
The search yielded six locally fabricated barretta pistols and a motorcycle, along with other exhibits.
