The arrest of 49 suspects in connection with the theft of property from the Triumph Plaza in the state’s Fagge Local Government Area has been confirmed by the Kano State Police Command.
SP Abdullahi Haruna, the state police command’s spokesperson, issued a statement on Monday confirming the development.
He stated, “On June 4, 2023, we received a report from good Samaritans that some hoodlums were regrouping and planning to loot properties of buildings and structures at Triumph Plaza, Fagge LGA, Kano State.”
“Upon receiving the report, the state Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Gumel, directed the immediate arrival at the scene of the arrest of the suspected looters by teams of Operation Restore Peace.
“The following looted properties were recovered: three flash doors, flash windows, four LG Air conditioners, eight pieces of polling door iron, and 16 heavy duty hammers,” according to the report: “49 suspects were arrested.”
Haruna encouraged guardians and local area pioneers to guide their wards/adolescents to cease from stealing from individuals’ properties.
