With this victory in Borno, Tinubu has eliminated both Atiku and Obi from contention.

In the presidential election, Bola Tinubu, the candidate for president put up by the All Progressives Congress (APC), received the highest number of votes in the state of Borno.

Atiku Abubakar, the candidate for the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), received 190,921 votes, while Mr Tinubu received 252,282 votes, giving him the victory. Peter Obi, who was running for president as a candidate for the Labour Party, received 7,205 votes.

The announcement of the results took place on Tuesday evening at the INEC collation centre in Maiduguri, which is the capital of Borno State.
