Peter Obi, the candidate for the Labour Party, has been named the winner in six of Plateau State’s eight LGAs. In the other two, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Atiku Abubakar, prevailed.

As of 9 a.m., only eight of the state’s seventeen LGAs have had their results posted at the INEC State Collation Centre.

The State Resident Commissioner, Oliver Agundu, and the Vice-Chancellor of Federal University, Lafiya, Shehu Abdulrahman, presided over the collation centre where the results from the eight local governments were given.

Mr Obi won in the LGAs of Langtang North, Barikin Ladi, Riyom, Jos East, Mangu, and Bokkos, while the PDP candidate took both the LGAs of Langtang South and Mikang.

As of the time of this report, the APC’s Bola Tinubu has not been proclaimed the victor in any of the local governments.
