After meeting with President Bola Tinubu on Friday, the former Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, has denied rumors that he plans to switch parties and join the All Progressives Congress instead of the People’s Democratic Party.
Four days after Tinubu was sworn in as Nigeria’s president, Wike, Seyi Makinde, and James Ibori met with him to offer their support.

Wike, a clan leader of the PDP, excused tales that he was intending to join the APC and rejected that changing to the APC was on the plan of the gathering.
When asked by State House journalists assuming changing to the APC was on the plan of the gathering he had, Wike answered: ” No. No plans. There is nothing like that coming.
We are Nigerians who have traveled to support the president.
“That is required. There is not a problem about that.”
