Tiwa Savage’s personal life; exploring her parentage, marriage, and motherhood journey

Tiwa Savage was born on February 5, 1980, in Lagos, Nigeria. Her mother is a Nigerian, while her father is a Ghanaian. Tiwa Savage grew up in a multicultural family which exposed her to different cultures.

 

Marriage:

On November 23, 2013, Tiwa Savage got married to Tunji Balogun, popularly known as Tee Billz. The couple had been dating for a while before they finally decided to tie the knot. The wedding was a grand event that attracted a lot of media attention. However, after 4 years of marriage, their union hit the rocks due to irreconcilable differences and infidelity. The couple had a public spat on social media, which led to their separation.

 

Motherhood journey:

Tiwa Savage is a proud mother to a son, Jamil Balogun, who was born on July 22, 2015. The singer has been very open about her motherhood journey and shares a lot of pictures and videos of her son on social media.

In an interview, Tiwa Savage revealed that she had suffered a miscarriage before she had her son. She also talked about the challenges of being a working mother and the guilt that comes with it. She revealed that she struggles with leaving her son at home when she has to go to work, but she knows that it is necessary for her career.

Tiwa Savage has successfully balanced her career and motherhood, and she continues to inspire other mothers with her journey.

 

Career:

Tiwa Savage started her music career at the age of 16, where she sang backing vocals for artists like George Michael and Mary J. Blige. She later attended the Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts, where she honed her skills.

In 2010, Tiwa Savage signed a publishing deal with Sony/ATV Music Publishing. She went on to write songs for artists like Monica, Fantasia Barrino, and Babyface.

In 2012, Tiwa Savage signed a record deal with Mavin Records and released her debut album, “Once Upon a Time,” in 2013. The album featured hit songs like “Eminado” and “Kele Kele Love.”

Tiwa Savage has since released several other albums, including “R.E.D” and “Celia,” which features collaborations with international artists like Sam Smith and Stefflon Don.

Aside from music, Tiwa Savage is also a brand ambassador for several companies, including Pepsi, MTN, and Pampers.

Overall, Tiwa Savage has become one of Africa’s most successful female artists, and she continues to inspire young women with her music and career achievements.
