Security forces in Kebbi State have successfully rescued nine individuals who were abducted in Kanya, located in Danko Wasagu Local Government Area. However, one victim remains in captivity.
The Director of Security at the Cabinet Office explained that the joint security team engaged the kidnappers in a firefight before securing the release of the hostages. This success was attributed to the governor’s ongoing support for security efforts, providing the necessary resources to ensure the safety of residents.
The rescued victims were identified as Alhaji Almustapha Almu, Hajara S. Maikano, Rukayya Isah Daya, Bello Isa Daya, Fa’iza S. Maikano, Amina S. Maikano, and Jidah Babangida. Efforts are still underway to rescue the remaining captive, and authorities assured the public that security forces are actively working to bring an end to the situation.
The governor has reaffirmed his commitment to protecting the lives and property of Kebbi State’s citizens and has pledged to continue supporting security operations.
