Shine Francis Odigie-Biography

This is the biography of “Shine Francis Odigie” popularly known as Iyelonomose is a Nigerian Nollywood actress, singer, and film producer. She was born in Benin City (Edo State). In 2005, she became prominent in Nigeria’s largest Nollywood film industry after her role play in a Nigerian film “Ebuwa” where she was featured as a salesgirl. The film was directed by Nigerian popular Cinema actor Lancelot Oduwa Imasuen.

Early life & Education:

Shine Francis Odigie was born in the great ancient Benin Kindom (Edo State) to the family of Mr. and Mrs. Odigie, she is the fourth of seven siblings. She attended Lomly Primary School in Benin City, in the year 1986 -1991. In 1992, she gained admission into Emotan College where she finally concluded her secondary education in the year 1997,She graduated from University of Benin where she studied banking and finance in the year 2008 .Shine is married to a Nigerian born British Prince Solomon Osemwingie, She is blessed with one biological child. Shine also adopted her late sister’s child which made up her complete family.

Career:

Shine Francis Odigie began her acting profession while she was in primary school. In 2005 she joined the Nollywood movie industry and she bagged her first cast in 2007, a film titled “Ebuwa” that will be directed by Nigerian famous Nollywood actor and director “Lancelot Oduwa Imasuen“. The film was aired in Nigeria Television Authority (NTA) nationwide. She had written scripts for Nigerian popular actresses and actors and produced them. Shine has been featured on various Nigeria Nollywood films and had collaborated with the likes of Jim IkeOmotola Jalade EkehindeNgozi Ezeonu, Olu JacobsEukeria EnunuobiUche Ogbodo.

She acted in a movie, titled “Kings battle”, starring Jim IkeOmotola Jalade Ekehinde, where she played the role of a “maid“. Shine was featured in another blockbuster movie, titled “Adesuwa” directed by Lancelot Oduwa Imasuen, the soft selling movie starred Ngozi EzeonuOlu Jacobs, and others, Shine played the role of Adesuwa’s sister, which was a sub lead. She was also a cast in Cruz and Spirit of workshop starring Jim IkeEukeria AnunuobiUche Ogbodo, where she played a sub lead in the movie. Shine has acted in “Native Fowl” starring Mercy John OkojieNuelaCharles Inojie produced by Sylvester Obadigie, to be directed by Chidi Chikere.

In 2009, Shine Francis Odigie release her debut movie which she self-produced, movie which she titled “Ukinebo”. Her self produced movies like, “esitigue”, “ebe iyelonomose”, “otitino omo”, “ododo”, “asueke” earned positive reviews by movie critics in Edo State, and was positively recieved in Nigeria.

AWARDS & RECOGNITIONS:

In 2009, Shine was nominated for best upcoming actress of the year by Nigerian Union Journalist and she won. In 2012, she was nominated for best sub lead actress of the year in the movie adesuwa, she won. In 2018, she was nominated for best actress in a decade by the icons award and won. In 2020, Shine was nominated for best lady actress in a decade and she won.
