Most influential American born Nigerian and the pioneer of Edo Funk dance style “Akwete” who paved way for Nigerian Edo Funk musicians in Bronx, popularly known as Richard Iyasere, previously honoured for his immense contribution to Bronx community  as the”African diaspora heroe” by Bill de Blassio”. Daddy Rich is also one of the nicks he ganered, based on his philantropic attitude towards vulnerable persons. Richard, who founded renowned Daddyrich Production  is breaking news daily. The  political and cultural activist. was previously described as “The guy who wore many hats”, Richard Iyasere has become the opera, based on his statistics of representing different organizations. Presently he  recieved   OON, from the Federal Republic of Nigeria at the  Nigerian house, also known as Nigerian Embassy in New York.

Richard Iyasere received “Officer of the Order of the Niger” (OON)

Richard Iyasere  was  honored    as   “Officer of the Order of the Niger” (OON)   by The Consulate General of Nigeria, New York, United States of America (USA), on Saturday, April 24, 2021, among some notable  individuals and organizations that have rendered outstanding services to Nigeria and the Consulate during its TOWN HALL program with the Nigerian Community in the USA. The occasion was also used to  honore Nigerian citizens and also bid farewell to the outgoing Consul General, Ambassador Ben Okoyen who will, anytime from now, be resuming in Havana as Nigeria’s Ambassador to Cuba with concurrent accreditation to the Bahamas, Honduras, and Nicaragua. During the occasion, the incoming Consul General and other officers were introduced formally, such  as Mr Lot Peter Egopija and Deputy Permanent Representative, Amb.
