Popular Ondo Traditional Ruler Shot Dead

The first-class Monarch in Ondo State has been confirmed dead from gunshots injury sustained when been shot on his way home by unknown gunmen.

The Monarch, the Olufon of Ifon, Oba Isreal Adeusi was shot dead on Thursday, 26 November 2020 on Owo/Ifon Highway in Ondo State.

The Traditional Ruler was said to have been shot while returning to his town from Akure, the State Capital after he had attended the monthly Council of Traditional Ruler meeting.

Another source said the monarch was said to have been shot at Elegbeka community, a few kilometers to his domain in Ose Local Government Area of the state.

According to sources, the monarch was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre, Owo, where he was confirmed dead.

He was said to have been hit by bullets and couldn’t survive the attack.

It was gathered that the gunmen were on Benin/Owo Highway to kidnap travelers on the route.

Speaking on the development, the State  Police Public Relations Officer,  ASP. Tee-Leo Ikoro said a team of policemen in conjunction with other security agencies and the military have swung into action to make sure that the perpetrators were arrested and made to face the wrath of the law.
