Authorities in Ogun State are actively pursuing suspects involved in a recent armed robbery in the Onikoko area. The incident occurred early Monday morning, around 2 AM, when three armed men, wielding locally made pistols and cutlasses, broke into a residence and stole various belongings from the occupants.
The Police Public Relations Officer reported that the suspects escaped with multiple items, including eight mobile phones, a laptop, ATM cards, and cash amounting to N30,000. Following the report, police forces responded swiftly, sealing off exit points to the community and conducting searches for the perpetrators.
During the investigation, officers discovered a bag believed to belong to the fleeing suspects, containing a locally made gun, two cutlasses, several ATM and SIM cards, and three cartridges. The Area Commander directed efforts to track the stolen mobile phones and enhance security in the area.
This incident follows the recent arrest of a suspected member of an armed robbery syndicate in the nearby Olomore area, highlighting ongoing efforts by law enforcement to combat crime in Ogun State.
