The Appeal Court in Abuja has on Monday 13th March, reserved judgement on the Osun State governorship appeal filed by the Governor-elect, Ademola Adeleke.
Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party won the gubernatorial election in the state. However his opposition in the All Progressive Congress, Oyetola, was not satisfied and he proceeded to high court.
The judicial panel consist of a three-member panel of justices presided by Justice M.F. Shuaibu. Adeleke is the appellant, while Oyetola and the All Progressives Congress are 1st and 2nd respondents in the appeal.
The Independent National Electoral Commission and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are the 3rd and 4th respondents respectively.
INEC had declared Adeleke the winner of the July 16 election after polling 403,371 votes and won in 17 of the 30 local government areas in the state.
But the tribunal led by Justice Terste Kume, declared his election invalid and held that Mr Gboyega Oyetola of APC is the valid winner of the poll.
The decision of the high court delivered on January 27, favored him, thus Senator Ademola Adeleke, has appealed the court decision which annulled the July 16, 2022 election which brought him in as governor of Osun State.
