In order to allow citizens of Abia State to pick up their Permanent Voter Cards, the state government has declared Monday and Tuesday to be holidays (PVCs).
In a statement released on Saturday, Abia State Government Secretary Barrister Chris Ezem made the announcement.
So, “all are urged to take this opportunity to visit the INEC offices or collection sites where they registered to collect their PVCs ahead of the 29th January 2023 deadline by INEC for closure of PVC collecting,” the statement stated.
To paraphrase the directive, “The Executives of the different markets in the State are required to guarantee strict compliance on the closing of their respective markets or be prepared to face appropriate fines.”
The SSG asserts that banks and people engaged in necessary work are unaffected by the government order.
