There would be another little girl among the victims of the violent repression of the Iranian regime in the protests that began after the death of Mahsa Amini. According to reports on social media Iran True, Saha Etebari, a 12-year-old girl, was killed on Christmas day when plainclothes officers fired at the car in which she was traveling with her family in the province of Hormozgan. An identical dynamic to the one that last November 16 led to the death of Kian Pirfalak, a 9-year-old boy killed by officers who shot at the family car, seriously injuring the child’s father. The news was also picked up by independent journalists in Iran, including Ali Javanmardi.
Tension in Iran therefore remains very high and protests continue to be bloodily repressed by the regime. The latest news is that the Iranian authorities have ordered a Mahan Air flight, the W563 departing from the capital Tehran and bound for Dubai, to land on the island of Kish. On board were the wife and son of former footballer and coach Ali Daei, who was subjected to threats after expressing his support for the 100-day protests.
