Recall, in 2014, there was a controversial news about missing babies at Aid People Change Nigeria Charity and Orphanage Organisation all over blogs and social media platforms , that almost ruined the good image of the acclaimed aforementioned international non profit Organisation, that lead to closing one of their Orphanage homes in Nigeria. ” If nobody reported the case of two missing babies to us at the Ministry of women affairs, we don’t accuse established institutions like Aid People Change Nigeria, knowing their aims and objectives was to eradicate poverty and child abuse all over Africa, a volunterr to the organisation whispered to our office and we rapidly called the directives for interogation. Luckily the Nigerian Police Force had discovered the perpetrators and we finally resolved the case amicably with Aid People Change Nigeria Charity and Orphanage home” said the Mrs Kate of Ministry affairs.
Obaland Magazine:
How did the whole problem started about insecurity at your institution ?
Ambassador Becky Edionewe:
Thanks for your interview question. As you all know, we have orphanage homes in every state and regios in Nigeria. Our organisation works nationally and internationally with PWD’s and abandoned Children or Orphans. It has turned hobby to vulnerable mothers to legally deposit their newly born babies or drop them at our Orphanage gate and escape, knowing to them that we will certainly care for them. We have caught several mothers this recent years after the two missing babies from our Orphanage home that were stolen by their biological mothers after the children survived hunger strike and were also healthy compare to the previous unkempt situation we saw them. Our institution is not a nursery hotel for babies, our aim is very transparent but many poor families had repeatedly drop their Children at our gate and later we find out they aren’t orphans. This had opened our ideas to improve on our CCTV cameras and we also introduced severe screening procedures before accepting babies into our Orphanage home. Thank God we finally resolved the previous scandal all over social media.
Obaland Magazine:
How many volunteers do you have at Aid People Change Nigeria Charity and Orphanage Organisation to monitor this babies ?
Ambassador Becky Edionewe:
We have appointed 300 volunteers to each of our Orphanage homes in various state in Nigeria, with 150 babies each at our Orphange homes. Their duties are to accompany the Children to school, cook, bath them and play with them, we also have Doctors who comes for the Children’s medical check up. previously we had lesser numbers of volunteers in various homes.
Obaland Magazine:
How many volunteers do you have natiotionwide in Nigeria and west Africa, do Aid People Change Nigeria Organisation pay volunteers?
Ambassador Becky Edionewe:
Excuse me, Mr journalist . The word volunteer and its activities aren’t paid jobs, but a passion or willingness to render random act of kindness. Nobody earns money from this field sir.
Obaland Magazine:
Can you tell us about the APCN Humanitarian Awards ceremony?
Ambassador Becky Edionewe:
As a journalist, you should know about our humanitarian awards ceremony, because your media office is near us, why asking me a popular ceremony you know about?
Obaland Magazine:
Madam, there are people who haven’t heard about Jesus, Devil or Bible. So it is your duty to educate us about your Organisation and her humanitarian ceremony. Can you tell us about the aforementioned Award ceremony if you don’t mind?
Ambassador Becky Edionewe:
If you insist then i have to narrate a full history about Aid People Change Nigeria Charity and Orphanage Organisation, so be patient lol. Aid People Change Nigeria Charity and Orphanage Organisation is an international non profit institution, founded in 2008 with our aims to advocate for PWD’s and accomodate orphans from the 0-18 age. We have Orphanage homes nationwide in Nigeria and internationally in Ghana, Mali,Cotonou, Abidjan in their rural areas, so we could battle Child abuse and eradicate extreme poverty in west Africa. We have two million and three hundred registered volunteers in total, with about one thousand directives in our local stables. For promoting humanitarians who contributed tirelessly , we launched the most talk about APCN Humanitarian Awards, which came to existence in 2008 at same time we were born as an organisation. The award was first given to blessed memory of music legend Majeck Fashek at Samuel Ogbemudia national stadium where we held the first edition. Guiness Nigeria Plc was the brain behind sponsorship in collaboration with local NGO’s in Nigeria, who share and believed in our Ideas. Sir Victor Uwaifo played a huge role to our todays APCN awards ceremony. You remember he was the presenter then. So we have reached 12th edition, which was hosted by Evi Edna Ogholi. The ceremony had improved seriously.
Obaland Magazine:
When will be the next APCN Humanitarian Awards and where will it be held?
Ambassador Becky Edionewe:
Like you know, APCN humanitarian award is an annual ceremony, probably it will be held in Ghana or Mali. It all depends on our board members discussions and agreement on where it will be held, i don’t think i can decide alone.
Obaland Magazine:
