Edo born international artist, Cynthia Osarobo is popularly known as Cynthia Morgan has asked her fans to be patient, following calls to her to return back to the Nigeria music scene after her music career suffers a setback as a result of her split with former manager Jude Okoye.
Cynthia Morgan, now The Madrina recently took to Instagram after years of being out in the cold to lament about her predicament, and how she was battling depression. The story broke the hearts of music lovers in Nigeria and beyond.
It attracted Nigerians, and celebrities to pledge their support for her, as she expressed interest to resuscitate her career. One such celebrity is internationally celebrated Davido who announced he wants to assist The Madrina bounce back to the music industry.
“Tell Cynthia I got an anthem for her… I’ll record my verse now”, Davido tweeted via @Davido, despite her insult to the OBO crooner years back on social media, where she called him a ‘fuck boy’.
Obaland Magazine recalled that ‘The Madrina’ had earlier claimed she lost all she had, including her name (Cynthia Morgan), Instagram account, VEVO account, and royalties after she had issues with her former manager as regards contractual agreement, a claim since dismissed by Jude Okoye.
The music Director revealed that Cynthia Morgan and the Northside Music had a 50/50 sharing formula.
However, in a letter from Cynthia Morgan published in The Guardian, of 27 May 2020, the artist expressed appreciation to Upfront with Sandra, Davido, her fans and his former manager, Jude Okoye.
The letter reads, “I, Cynthia Morgan, would like to use this platform to appreciate all the love, well wishes and support from everyone showing love to me, my health and my well being.
A huge appreciation to Upfront With Sandra whose platform my story was told.
Appreciation goes out to Davido for reaching out and other brands who reached out.
A lot has happened in the past. I erred, other parties involved had their fair share of the blame, but we all make mistakes. I was younger and new in the industry and in retrospect, some things could have been done differently instead of left unresolved.
However, in telling my story, I have not lied but only shared my story as it happened from my own point of view.
Also, I allowed the hurt & pain from past dealings take over my emotions but moving on.
I appreciate everyone clamouring for my return both online and offline. I’m also asking Cynthia Morgan fans all over the world for understanding and patience on the new journey we are about to embark on.
I won’t take this new opportunity for granted.
My heartfelt appreciation once again goes to JUDE and JOY. It is the pain speaking, not Cynthia. Thanks for giving me the platform to grow the Cynthia Morgan brand.
I have learnt the importance of opening up and sharing when one is going through challenges in life as mine is a testament to this.
Appreciation to all media houses and blogs. Thanks for your support and allow me to formally introduce THE MADRINA to the world.
