Obaland Magazine exclusive interview with an upcoming artist. Alaekwe Chinedu Victor popularly knows by the stage name “Nado Banks ” a great example of a Nigerian youth giving his best to the entertainment industry, someone everyone should watch out for, the Onitsha -based upcoming music king shared his story and what led to his present career with Chidinma Tijani.

Can you introduce yourself to the audience?

My name is Alaekwe Chinedu Victor, am from a family of six, I’m the third son,I started writing music at the age 15,I enjoyed it because it gives me the chance/opportunity to express my feelings. I am from Imo state.

What drew you to the music industry?

What drew me to the music industry is my love for music, nature and arts in general.

It’s good to have you here my brother. I have followed your work for a while now and I must commend you for your versatility. Can you tell us what inspires you every day?

Cause every day I get more inspiration

What drew me into music is because I have the talent.

Who are you inspired by?

I’m inspired by 2babe WizKid a lot of them.

Please explain your creative process, What’s an average day like for you?

My creative process is just a talent through inspiration. My average day is like trying to get a new inspiration to new lyrics and hustle to support my music.

Is there a hidden meaning in any of your music?

There is nothing am hiding in the meaning of my songs.

Do you collaborate with others? What is that process?

Yes, I do collaborate with other.

Please discuss how you interact with and respond to fans?

I interact with my fans through been jovial speak with them about my songs know how they feel about it etc . What is your favourite part about this line of work? Your least favourite? Why?

Every part of my work is favourable to me. My least favourite is the chorus. Why because I always came up with a good chorus.

Have you ever dealt with performance anxiety?

Yes, I have dealt with performance anxiety.

Tell me about your favourite performance venues?

My favourite performance venue is rollers bush bar around where I was rise so I feel much better performing there.

What advice would you have for someone wanting to follow in your footsteps?

My advice to anyone following my footsteps is he/she should be courageous.

Which type of artist are you?

I’m a hip hop Artist.

How long have you been into music?

I have been here for two to three years now.

What did ur parents think about you going into music?

No, they love it and encourage me to do more.

What do you think about our music industry?

Good our artist is the most talented in the world.  No country is competing with Nigeria, we got a lot of raw talent.

Where do you see yourself in two years time?

I see myself as a big celebrity in those two years.

Any challenge in music?

There is no promotion, you have to do it your self.

What record label are you working with?

No record label, am just doing it on my own.

How many songs have you released?

I have done seven songs.
