EXCLUSIVE: Peter Obi Breaks Electoral Law, Just Released

Peter Obi, the presidential candidate for the Labour Party, brought his campaign to the 14th National Conference and Jubilee Celebration of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal on Saturday in Ubulu Uku, which is located in the state of Delta. This action was taken in violation of the Electoral Act of 2022.

In front of a sizable congregation of worshipers, Mr. Obi made a commitment to turn around the fortunes of Nigeria and treat every person equally if he were to be elected president.

According to Section 92(3) of the Electoral Act 2022, “Places designated for religious worship, police stations, and public offices shall not be used for political campaigns, rallies, and processions; or to promote, propagate, or attack political parties, candidates, or their programs, or ideologies.” This provision is included in the list of places that cannot be used for political activities.

The former governor of Anambra State is being accused of making frequent use of the church’s microphone in order to lobby for votes.

In the month of July, he went to “The Judgement Praise Night with Pastor Paul Enenche” which was held at the Dunamis International Gospel Center in Abuja.

In a similar vein, Mr. Obi went to the Redemption Camp for the first time in August to commemorate the 70th Annual Convention of the Redeemed Christian Church of God. There, he was honored with a standing ovation after delivering a speech.

The Independent National Electoral Commission, often known as INEC, has issued repeated warnings to politicians, stating that they must comply with the law or face the possibility of disciplinary action.

The congregations cheered and applauded as Mr. Obi spoke at the occasion. He stated, “I’m asking you to vote for me because I’ll turn around Nigeria; I want to construct a Nigeria where the son of Nobody becomes somebody, and the daughter of Nobody becomes somebody.”
