Highly experienced Nigerian born defender, Akinsola Azeez Akinyemi has completed his move to top Israeli side Maccabi Netanya ahead of the new season.
The 27-year-old defender joined from Bulgarian side Lokomotiv Plovdiv after guiding them to win the country’s FA Cup last season.
A product of the Valerenga youth side in Norway, Akinyemi can also operate at both left and right backs, Obaland Magazine learned.
Maccabi Netanya who unveiled the experienced center back described him as the needed missing link in their side.
Akinyemi who has played for Norway national team youth side is eligible to play for Nigeria. He is the son of the President of the Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL, Sunshine Stars, Alhaji Tajudeen Akinyemi.
