Deputy Governor Laud Zion Ladies for Donating a Sixty Seater Luxury Bus To Edo Govt

Edo State Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon Comrade Philip Shaibu has commended the Zion Ladies Elite Club of Nigeria for supporting children, women and for their philanthropic gestures

The Deputy Governor made the commendation when the Zion Ladies Elite Club of Nigeria, a non – governmental organization, donated a Sixty-seater luxury bus to Edo State Government as part of its social corporate responsibility for the conveyance of the less-privileged school children and for other government activities.

The donation was made by the women’s group led by its President, Amb. Esther Edokpai to the Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Comrade Philip Shaibu, who received them in audience at the Government House, Benin City.

The group appreciated the Deputy Governor for his immense contribution to societal development, especially the entertainment industry and the less-privileged.

Receiving the bus on behalf of Edo State Government, the Deputy Governor, apologized for not being in attendance during the group’s launch to support the less-privileged.

“I appreciate your philanthropic gesture towards the women and less-privileged in the society”.

“Hundreds of you, worldwide coming together to give back to the society is a culture which other organizations should emulate. It is not everyone that God blesses with financial resources. Whatever way God blesses an individual, he must learn to give back to the society”.

“What we give back is always a reflection of who we are. I pray God sustains this your giving spirit bountifully. We can only but use you as role models to others”.

“For the entertainers, I tried to break through them to impact in them the courage to explore the entertainment industry. We’re building a culture where individuals can nurture and grow their God-given talents”, Shaibu added.

Earlier, President of the Zion Ladies Elite Club of Nigeria,  Amb. Esther Edokpai said: “Zion Ladies is a charitable organization whose vision and mission are to empower the less-privileged in the society”.

“We have seen what you have been doing to help the poor, the less- privileged and the entertainment industry. We’re here to support you with a sixty-seater bus to help you in some of your programs and to use it in conveying children to school when the need arises”, she added.

The Patron of the club, Amb. Destiny Ebagua disclosed that the women decided to come together from all over the world to buy a sixty seater luxurious bus from America to present to the office the Deputy Governor to enable the government assist school children, security personnel’s, traffic wardens and others.

He said the club made up of over one hundred women are into charity, visiting hospital and schools, and he appreciated the Deputy Governor for giving platform to entertainers to do what they know how to do best and for what he is doing for the youths. According to him, “the governor has been very accessible to the entertainers and recently we organized the Edo music festival and awards on the 8th where we gave you an award for what you have been doing in the state. This is the award sir.”
