Court Remands Agba Jalingo In Jail For Cybercrime

Popular Nigerian Journalist, Agba Jalingo, who has been standing trial for treason, has been remanded in Kuje prison, Abuja from Monday till Thursday

Jalingo was remanded by a judge in the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, Justice Zainab Bage Abubakar for alleged cybercrime.

According to reports released by ‘Politics Nigeria’, Justice Abubakar allegedly denied Jalingo’s lawyers access to move a motion for bail after he was arraigned for cyberstalking.

Jalingo was arraigned for allegedly defaming Elizabeth Ayade, the wife of Frank Ayade, who is a brother to Cross River State Governor, Ben Ayade.

Jalingo, who is the publisher of CrossRiverWatch, was arrested on August 22, 2019, over a report published by his media alleging that Cross River State governor, Ben Ayade, diverted N500 million belonging to the state into his personal pocket.
