COALITION OF BENIN SOCIO CULTURAL ORGANIZATIONS demand prosecution of the actors behind the alleged grabbing of Oba of Benin land .

The COALITION OF BENIN SOCIO CULTURAL ORGANIZATIONS, led by the Coordinator General, Osazee Amas Edobor, has frowned upon the misleading information regarding the Oba of Benin kingdom plots of land that was intentional grabbed and sold to some persons by the enogie of ulegun community.

for the statement signed by the Coordinator General, Mr. Osazee Amas Edobor, Secretary General,Iyamu Osaro Culture, Public Relations Officer, Maxist Kola Edokpayi, Director of Planning,Comrade Osazee Eriamiantoe, Director of Gender Affairs, Charity Ozigbo-Esere and other members of the coalation, they said the said perrcel of land measuring 500ft by 1000ft belongs to the Oba of Benin Kingdom, they added that the Enogie of Ulegun village is not unaware that the said plots of land which he and his cohorts allegedly grabbed and sold belongs to Oba of Benin Kingdom.

They said, it is an abomination for a Benin subject to encroach into his Royal landed property and to say the least of selling it away at whatever pretence.

they also said they demand the prosecution of the actors behind the alleged grabbing of Oba of Benin land including the Enogie and Priest of Ulegun village that were arrested in connection with the act.

They talked against the recent release of the two suspects from police custody on orders of the State governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, as a truism that some agents of government are giving land grabbers tacit support to muzzle traditional institution in Edo state for personal gains.

they also advise Governor Obaseki to direct the newly inaugurated Special Force to use this case as a test run against those who grabbed, sold and built on Ancestral land of the great Oba of Benin Kingdom Plots of Land in view to showing their unbias readiness and capacity.
