Meet the boy in the popular family TV Series ”Fuji House of Commotion’ Well he is now a man. Obaland Magazine met with the award-winning actor and filmmaker Joshua Ojo recently he spoke with Pushe Tijani about how the lockdown has affected his work and more.

Who is Joshua Ojo?
Joshua Ojo is the CEO of Davinci Effects and Filmcity Inc. Call me one of Nigeria’s most hardworking and successful movie producers. Acting has been on my mind right from when I was a kid. I started with TV commercials but later crossed into Nollywood. though I’ll still embrace any commercial if it comes. I started acting in 1997, but regarding filmmaking, I didn’t just jump into it like everyone. After my graduation, I went to Itpan film school here in Nigeria to study directing than a few months later I went to study film making at NYFA.
1. How has the lockdown affected your work?
I’ve been affected in so many ways. The release date of my new motion picture SANGO has been changed until further notice. A whole lot of projects are now pending all because of the outbreak. And lastly, I am currently directing the enviable TV series on Africa Magic Yoruba “BOROKINI Season 2.” we had to stop the filming in Ibadan all because of the outbreak. We have been filming this project since January but we had to stop because of the outbreak. So you see, I’ve been affected by it and I’m not happy about it at all.
2: How I have been coping?
Well, I’m still in my hotel room in Ibadan. This has also given me the opportunity to have a quiet moment to strategies some things and plan ahead. Though I’m bored, hey, we are still alive (Smiles)
3: what have been doing since the lockdown?
I haven’t had the time to relax since January 1st, so its an opportunity for me to rest for a while as I plan, as I read the script of my next project I’m directing, listening to good music, and networking with other business gurus.
4: What I’ve learnt since the lockdown?
There’s no doubt that is has been difficult staying home. Many people complaining about feeling bored and aimless. Some might even feel that it’s a breach of their individual right, being made to stay home. However, when it comes to the greater good, one should always be willing to sacrifice a little bit of that freedom. A balance between individual rights and public safety is an ever-changing thing. Trade a little bit of your freedom for the greater good of the public. It also made me reignite with my God. Oh yes, I’ve had several quiet moments with him. I speak with him one on one because he’s my homie.
